Today I had to research the word Goals on LDS.ORG. I wasn't really sure where I needed to go with this one but I'm really glad that I found the article I did. I found an article from the Jan 2010 Ensign by Elder Holland. I love love love Elder Holland. The name of this article is The best is yet to be.
In this, he started out by saying that he didn't want to talk about new years resolutions and when I started reading this, I wasn't really sure this could work for goals. But because of what is going on in my life and the things I feel like I need to do, it helps to set myself, my goals in order. He urged us strongly to let go of the past. He said not to dwell on the yesterdays, no matter how good those days might have been. The past is to be learned from, not lived in. I love that! I cannot tell you how many times I have thought to myself that I just wish I could go back to something because it seemed better at the time.
In this article he talked about Lots wife, he took us back to Somom and Gumorah. He taught that the reason why she looked back, wasn't because she wanted to see what was going on, but that she yearned to be back in Sodom and Gumorah. She didn't have faith in what was yet to be for her, she didn't trust in what the Lord had in store for her. I really felt, that I didn't want to be like her. I don't think I want to even look back to see what happened. I really want to just have faith, that the Lord with take care of what needs to be done. He goes on to talk about faith. Faith is always pointed to the future. Faith always has to do with blessings and truths and events that will yet be efficaciousin our lives.
Elder Holland then spoke of Paul and what he had given up. Pauls said that giving up all his riches and position in the Jewish community is like Dung. He would rather have the Christianity. Paul also said; I have stopped rhapsodizing about "the good old days" and now eagerly look toward the future, that I may apprehend that for which Christ apprehended me. That is so me sometimes... To many times I want the good old days and forget what I have before me. It's ok to think about the past but not to live in it. Those are happy times but we must progress.
He taught us to forgive and forget, ourselves and others. We should not dig up things of the past. We should hold on to just enough, so as to not do wrong again but to let that which has been buried through repentance, stay buried. Something that he said and that I loved was, God doesn't care as much as to where you have been but he does care where you are at now and where you are headed and willing to go. If we repent, the Lord will forget and just wants us to keep moving forward. He wants us back!
Every day out to be a new start of a new year and a new life! Every day I can wake up and look towards the future. I can set new goals or adjust myself to the goals set previously. Elder Holland finished by saying; We wonder what the future holds for us. Are we going to look towards it or look back. and dwell in the past. He called out to us, to remember Lots wife. Faith is the future. Faith builds on the past but never longs to stay there. Faith trusts that God has great things in store for each of us and that Christ truly is the "High Priest of good things to come." Keep your eyes on the dream, however distant and far away. Live to see the miracles of repentance and forgiveness, of trust and divine love that will transform your life today, tomorrow, and forever.
I don't know how much this really is about goals but it helped me to think about my goals. I have to continue in faith. Faith is a hard thing sometimes and I know that my goals this year require a lot of faith. Just when I think I have faith, I realize that I need even more. The Lord does push me to go further. He knows that I can do hard things and so do I, with faith in Christ.

Day 3
So today I was suppose to donate my time. You wouldn't think that would be so hard to do, but today it was! I kinda of had to think creatively. I didn't do what you would normally think, like go to a soup kitchen and help out or even do a service project. Today, I had to work and then I had a friend receiving her endowments at the temple and then we had Blayne's open house. I had about a 3 hour window.... Not a lot of time to do anything. So... I decided I would help make some cookies. LOL wasn't really anything I planned or wanted to do. However, I did do them and I was able to still make my temple session. Sometimes when you donate your time, it doesn't just mean that you have to do something huge. I helped at home. Simple and fun.

Day 2
So todays challenge was to Eat something new that I have never had before. So after much thought during the day and some help from friends... I decided to go with Indian food. Not gonna lie... I was a little nervous. I have never heard anything about Indian food before, so I really didn't know what to e
xpect.
xpect.I am happy to say, that I came out on top. Indian food is some amazing food. I will totally be going out for it again. Amy, Lee, and I went to a little place called Samosa Factory Indian Cusine. I just googled Indian food and this little place had some really great reviews. The reviews also said that they weren't as pricey. Trust me when I say this, cause I looked up a couple other menus... They weren't as pricey. Tonight was money well spent.
I started out with these yummy Vegetable Samosas. They are a wrapped potatoe and pea pastry... basicly. They had some great spices in them. MMMMM...
My dinner was Lamb Korma. It was lamb in a curry sauce that was a spicey coconut and almond. Oh soo
ooo good. We also had a Garlic Kaan, which is a flat bread. It's a must have!

30 days til I'm 30!
I have the greatest friend ever! Amy I love you so much! So... I now have 30 different things to do before I turn 30! Last night I accepted a challenge and I only get 1 skip lol. So here's how it goes. I have 31 evnvelopes with 31 different things to do. If I choose not to do the challenge for that day I can use the skip envelope that has a different challenge for me to do. After that skip, that's it... no more, I have to do the rest of my challenges, so I have to choose wisely. Trust me... Amy wants me to choose wisely lol. So, I can't open the next day until I do the challenge for that day. KILLER!!! I just wanna look at them lol. I will be honest, I'm a bit nervous but not to much. I am super excited though. Amy always makes me feel so good for my b-day! I love ya girl!
Day 1... I had to go to the temple and do an ordinance or just walk around. I decided to go and do Initiatories. I'm so glad that I decided to do that! I love it when I feel the spirit of those sisters who have been waiting for so long, for the blessings that belong to them. I had some pretty excited sisters tonight. :) I love the temple! I love love the temple!

Cleanse Week

So, I will be starting a 5 day cleanse. Not gonna lie, I'm kinda nervous. I like to eat, so going 5 days of just drinking my nutrition will be interesting. I decided to do a cleanse because I actually caught myself saying I would never do something like that. When I thought about it, I thought, I'm not gonna die from it and really this is something that would be good for my extremely 30. LOL So maybe it's not the most extreme thing ever, but it's extreme.
Anyway, I am going to be drinking a gallon of this Lemon/Lime drink. It's 1 cup of Lemon Juice (Special organic kind... haha Sarah Manley Hooked me up with it. You can get it from Sun Flower Market though.) Then 1 cup of Pure Mable Syrup. Add that to a gallon of water and that's my yummy food for the next 5 days... Wish me Luck! Oh yeah and then I have to drink water with 2tsp of Sea salt every morning. Gonna be interesting.
I will keep you updated on how I feel every day. I am kind of excited because I need a shock to my body. I have kind of really plateaued and am so close to 50 pounds! I just can't get there. GRRR... I've been eating good and working out so it's just super frustrating. Hopefully I will be able to jump start myself again.
Day 1
So today wasn't horrible. Yeah I miss eating my 3 o' clock snack and dinner but I'm ok. I do kind of have a head ache right now but that's what happens when your body goes through withdrawls. I even went to the gym today, I don't feel weak at all. When I got hungry, I drank. I really haven't had starving hunger pains though. I don't even know how many times I went to the bathroom today haha and I don't think I'm done. I haven't even done the flush part yet.
I am kinda not sure if I will be able to make the 5 days though. I hope so, but I really am going to just listen to my body on this one. I can't let my mind think I have to have food, all the time. Yes, I need food, and I love eating food, but from time to time we do need to clean oursleves out. Trust me, I don't believe this will come to be a reoccuring habit. All in all Day 1 is done. I made it!
Day 2
Today was a little better than yesterday. I have to say though, that the lemon juice is soooo much better than the lime juice. The sea salt is not so yummy, first thing in the morning to chug, but you do what ya gotta do. Today I felt like I would actually maybe make it 5 days. I am really just looking at it one day at a time. Today was good, tomorrow should be ok... I think. It was super hard tonight though... haha it was my dish night and yep, mom made some good food. I didn't even lick my fingers... oh but do you know how tempting that was. Self Control, good thing I have learned a little better, with the weight I have already lost.
I don't really feel very different in how I feel yet, I do kind of wonder when I will feel a difference. I sure am not going the 20 days to see how I could really feel. I am ok with saying, if need be, that I cleansed myself and I still felt the same. Anyway, until tomorrow... Wish me luck!
Day 3
So I would consider myself a pretty dedicated person and I plan to stay that way. I am going to see this cleanse out but seriously... more power to the people who go 20 days... Yeah they are way more dedicated than I am.
Today was a pretty hard day. I had a headache for most of the day and I still don't feel like I have really had the full effect of the flush. I just feel like I am full of water. I went to put on a pair of jeans tonight... that normally fit and they didn't... what the heck!
I think most of the reason I really want to see this through now, is just mind over matter. I don't have to always eat. I am really just trying to keep that in my mind. Instead of looking at the negative, which trust me I have, I really want to see the positive. I know we need to eat to live but we don't have to eat a lot because obviously I am living right now on lemon juice and maple syrup lol. I will see this through and when I'm done, weight loss or not, I have a better out look on myself and how I can accomplish what I have set out to accomplish.
Day 4
Well today wasn't bad. I actually felt normal today. The only thing I wish would happen is a good flush. I decided I would add the Cayan Pepper in. I have had a couple people tell me that I need to have it, so we shall see how tomorrow morning goes.
I am so ready to be done with this though, I'm really kind of tired of drinking this drink... Saturday couldn't come fast enough. I really don't know how people make it 20 days... it's NUTS! Anyway, it wasn't a bad day and I'm glad that I was craving some food all day and no headache.
Day 5
I'm done! I made it! You do not know how happy I am to say that. Holy cow... Today was the hardest day just because of the drink. I added the Cayan Pepper and oh my gosh YUCK... that doesn't even really describe it. It really wasn't a bad day at all. I went to the gym and felt good but when it came to drinking, I would have to say, if I would have put Cayan Pepper in it on day 1, I wouldn't have finished. Take the pill people... take the pill!
Outside of being so tired of drinking this drink for 5 days straight I feel alright. I just can't do the whole drinking thing. I can honestly say I will never ever do it again. More power to the people who make it longer. This really was extreem for me and I'm glad I did it, just for the pure fact that it was extreem. Until Next Month!

Lord of The Rings
So this holiday weekend I decided to take on my first extreem. I am so glad however that I didn't not do it all in one day. I watched all 3 Lord of the Rings, extended editions!
First of all, I can now tell all my friends, who were in shock that I had never seen Lord of The Rings, that I have now seen them all. Second I really actually Loved them. Not sure I would watch them all in one weekend again but it did make it easier to follow what was going on. I didn't get lost or forget.
Donny was the only one in my family who would watch them with me. To him, I am extremely grateful. He did drive me nuts at times but what can I say, I didn't have to do it alone. Now he can say he watched them too. I think he really liked them as well.
I think everyone should have a friend like Samwise, he stuck with Frodo through everything. I loved it when he said, I cannot carry your burden but I can carry you and then picked him up to finish up the mountain. Dang! What a good man!
I was quite alright with all of the effects... EXCEPT... the freakin huge spider... ugh my skin was crawling... Just can handle bugs... ick! I was about ready to be so mad, having sit for 3 days for more than 3 hours each time, when Frodo didn't throw the ring in...Oh I was ready to be so mad haha... Good thing I didn't have to be.
I loved Master Dwarf Gimli, he cracked my up! His one liners were great. Gollum... CRAZY... That's all I got to say about that. I really liked all the characters. The whole movie was really fantastic and now I know why all my friends thought I was crazy. It's not like my review matters but at least now I can say that I did like it and I would watch it again... Might have to go and buy my own copy actually... haha Thanks Jill for letting me borrow your Platinum Box Set haha.
Well Until next time, Let me know of some new ideas and I might just let you know how it goes. ;-)

Extremely 30
I have decided that I am going to have the best 30th year anyone could even ask for. I'm not married and I don't have kids, so why not have some fun... Right! I have a couple Extreme plans already but I would like to have some more ideas. I would like to do at least one thing a month. They don't have to be huge extreme but something that I probably would never really decide to do on my own. I will take into consideration everything thing that is thrown at me and decide where I would like it to fit into my year. I don't have a problem doing more that one thing a month, it will totally make this more interesting.
Some of the ideas that I already have in mind are; Buying a house, Sky diving (yikes), and a road trip by myself. I have a themes that I could break it down into... So here it goes! Extreme Finance , Life and Travel are examples of what I have really decided to do. I was also thinking about Extreme Health, Body, Food, Friendship, Date, Car, and Movie. I do have some crazy ideas for these but would like some more ideas, new themes are always welcome. As I go along with these extreme things I will blog, post video, and some fun pics. I'm super excited about this! I think this year will prove to be unforgetable.
